"Transformers: Animated": The first three episodes essentially have the same story as Michael Bay’s live-action feature film. Once again, the Autobots have the Allspark in their possession, and the Decepticons want it for themselves. The only difference between the film and this is the story takes place on Earth in the future and Starscream is the main villain.
Granted, it does not hold a candle to the original series (G1), but very few animated series do. The main selling point here is that there is plenty of action here to satisfy fans. The new series depictions of Starscream and Megatron are spot on, these two bots are as menacing as ever. The Autobots are not that fine; Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are more comedic and wimpy in this updated series, Prowl is pretty bad-ass. It’s a shame he isn’t the leader here as he at least takes everything serious and will fight when necessary.
